This year at Carnival of Stars I am debuting a student troupe on Saturday 7/13 at 5:06PM as well as dancing as a solo artist in the Gala Show on Sunday 7/14 to live music with Bay Area legends Pangia. Admission details on the Carnival of Stars website.

Summer 2024 Belly Dance Classes started this week! South San Francisco classes are full but we have room for drop-ins in Belmont. We meet Thursdays at 6:30PM - details on my Classes Page.

My students delighted audiences in two sold-out performances at the Carlmont Performing Arts Center this past weekend as part of the Better Together Dance Theatre annual show. They worked so hard to prepare and did a fantastic job - I loved watching them :)

We had our first class hafla at Better Together Dance Theatre! We are fortunate at the studio we have several opportunities to perform as a group throughout the year. But we are always working on our art as soloists as well, and for several students this was a first experience planning and performing a solo. You can see by the lovely smiles that it was a fun night! I was so proud of everyone for taking this big step.
We were incredibly fortunate to have Bay Area legend Jordan perform for us to close the hafla. She wowed us with a gorgeous performance to Mashaal, giving us all such a beautiful display of elegance, charm and musicality to aspire to as we continue to work. You can see a little of her performance here.

It was a wonderful evening and we will do it again in September.
Right after our hafla we started rehearsing for our big studio show that happens June 1st and 2nd. I look forward to sharing more details about that soon!

It’s been another busy year full of dance. I am so sorry I have not had the time to blog or update my social media regularly. But classes continue and I am so grateful for all my students. It is such a pleasure to share the beauty of belly dance with you all!
A couple highlights from the last quarter of the year:
Alisa and Belly Dancers at the Grand Opening of the brand new Library | Parks and Recreation Center in South San Francisco
On October 28th, I was honored to teach a belly dance class at the grand opening of the new Library Parks and Recreation Center in South San Francisco. The event was a great success, and we are really enjoying dancing in this beautiful new space!
Alisa and Belly Dancers at the 2023 Better Together Dance Theatre Adult Showcase
On December 12th, I was so proud to watch both my Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced Belmont classes perform in the annual Better Together Dance Theatre Adult Showcase. This is such a special tradition where our adult classes perform for each other in a safe and supportive environment for dancers who may not be used to performing.
The Beginning class mastered a short routine to a classic piece of music and they did a lovely job. The Intermediate/Advanced class performed an exciting zill piece and drum solo! Everyone worked so hard which allowed us to put on a wonderful demonstration of belly dance.
In closing, I can’t say this enough: I am so grateful to still be dancing and to be sharing this beautiful art form with others. Thank you to all my beautiful students because you inspire me every day to keep learning and working to improve myself to be an even better teacher.
